About
We help children engage their bodies and minds through fun and educational activities.
Our history
Founded by Kunda Wami Chilwesa-Katongo, who attributes paranoia, love, and genuine concern for the safety of her daughter and other children as the driving force or motivation behind starting little sweethearts. Only after pursing numerous online course in Childcare and Early childhood Education did her husband agree to partnering and Co founding Little Sweethearts, thus in September 2017, Little Sweethearts opened its doors to serve parents with infants and toddlers that are in need of childcare and require, a safe, clean, affordable and reliable child care centre. With their daughter as the first client, they took a leap of faith and started the business. Within a week of opening, 1(one) client enrolled and by the end of September 2017, 6 other children enrolled. Today Little Sweethearts has over 50 little sweethearts aged between 3 months and 9 years old. Their passion and love for children and their determination to provide quality, reliable, affordable and safe service moves them to continue providing Services that not only make parents lives easier but also contributes to their productivity at work or business. Then under our graduates: prior to 2021, children graduate Little Sweethearts with an excellent foundation and skills that make transitioning into grade school a bliss.

Our graduates
Children graduate Little Sweet Heart programs with the skills they need to succeed in private or public school. In surveys, kindergarten and first grade teachers report that Little Sweet Hearts graduates are enthusiastic learners who are socially and academically ready for the years ahead.
Our first graduates transferred into international school both within and out of the country . You maintain the part about being enthusiastic learners. In terms of language we have French ,English and Chinese that are taught from kindergarten to grade school. Currently the school goes up to 4th grade with a class being added every year. We are grooming our own crop. Perhaps including that we use a blended curriculum of the National British curriculum and Zambian. We use philosophies such as learning through play &Montessori to ensure children are set for success. Our moral code is non religious but focuses on core values and morals that are globally acceptable and promote self esteem and love for people.
Our community
Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong parent partnerships. Whether we’re close to home or near the office, our center is ideal for busy working families and easy to get to – for pick-up and drop-off or to stop in for a visit.
We use fun, research-based, multi-sensory strategies to help children develop early learning skills, including Lively Letters, Open Court for phonics and literacy, Handwriting Without Tears, and Everyday Math. We use Responsive Classroom as the basis for our social and emotional learning curriculum throughout the school.
